Coko (CHO-co) washing station is located in the highest parts of the Gakenke region in Rwanda. It is run by the small, mainly female Twongerekawa cooperative society. We’ve first encountered this coffee in 2017 and it has been one of our favourites ever since.
Processing: fully washed and double fermented: all coffee is carefully hand picked, depulped, dry fermented for 12 hours, then wet fermented for 18 hours, washed with mountain water, shade dried and finally sun dried on raised beds.
